What a morning looks like
Programmes vary by constitution and by physician. The shape of a day rarely does.

Abhyanga, at seven
Warm medicated oil, four hands, forty minutes. The oil is chosen for you and changes as the fortnight goes on.

Shirodhara
A continuous thread of oil across the forehead. Most guests sleep through it, which is the intended effect rather than a failure of attention.

The herbal bath
Steam, then water infused with whatever the physician has prescribed that week. Unhurried, and considerably hotter than expected.

The afternoon is deliberately empty. Rest is part of the treatment, not the absence of it.
